Yes. Hair must be fully blow-dried before braiding to ensure smooth, neat braids and longer-lasting results. We include blow-dry time in your appointment; please arrive with clean, detangled hair to streamline the process and reduce styling time.

Typically we use 2 to 3 packs of hair for large box braids on children. Each pack is $6 and available in salon. Your stylist will confirm exact quantity during consultation based on density and desired thickness.

This service is designed for children ages 4 to 12. We assess hair texture and cooperation level to ensure safety and comfort. Younger children should be able to sit calmly through the appointment; a parent or guardian is welcome to stay.

Plan for 1.5 to 3 hours depending on braid size, hair thickness and child’s cooperation. Blow-dry and styling time are included. We’ll give a more precise estimate when booking; late arrivals may reduce styling time or incur rescheduling.

Protect braids by sleeping with a satin bonnet or pillowcase, moisturize scalp lightly with water or leave-in spray, avoid heavy oils and tight styles, and gently cleanse scalp as needed. Return for adjustments if edges loosen or irritation occurs.
